Here’s something to think about. Madalas kapag nakakapanood tayo ng mga riding video online or sa dvd; or tuwing nakakakita tayo ng mga picture ng mga spots or stunts or features or trails, parati nating sinasabi, “Wow, sana meron dito nyan” or “Grabe galing talaga ng mga pro” or kung anu-anong mga comments na para bang laging dehado ang mga Pinoy riders sa Pinas – or riders from anywhere in the world for that matter.

Ang totoo nyan, yung mga spots or trails na nakikita natin sa mga vids or pics, hindi yun lumitaw out of nothing. May rider initiative lagi. Hours & hours or riding yun just to do kahit na wallride lang. And for the first time, nakita ‘ko syang tinira yung higanteng wallride – feat na yung mga “magagaling” lang yung nakikita kong tumitira. Guess what, hindi lumabas yung riding nya na yun overnight. Palagi syang nandun sa bikepark every Sunday. So ayun, nagri-reap ng benefits.

So anong point ko? Ang point ko is when you call yourself a rider, be a true rider. Let’s be honest, kahit na sabihin nating we’re riding just for fun, gusto pa rin nating makapag-tricks kahit konti.

So, are you a rider?

ako, i can say that i'm a rider. i push myself to to do better, challenge myself, attempt stuffs that pops into mind. however i know what i can do and can't do. i love the feel of the air brushing tru my face, the taste of the dirt, the hardship of a long climb and just like ferdie sez i love to put some style and keep up with those who's riding skill is above mine. but riders here considers a lot of things. sa hirap ng buhay, malaking effecto na ang di makapasok sa trabaho kasi nabalian ng braso, na torned yung ligaments, or walang pampagamot.

meron akong kakilala na rider, expert rider, magaling, can huck, can drop a 30 footer at mabilis. pero financialy, hirap din. para maging magaling ka sa pinas na rider kailangan mo bigyan talaga ng time ang training para achive mo yung hanap mong style. mahirap i balanse ang kabuhayan at riding sa pinas. somethings gotta give, sabi nga. you can be a great rider, world class pero gutom naman or an alright rider pero can provide a family.

Di mo kayang sirain to. Hehehe! Motto ko sa sarili ko - Work, take care of family needs, THEN RIDE! Kaya mo yung Joes? Ha Joes? Ha o Ha o Ha!

I consider myself a rider until now gusto ko pa rin mag improve riding skills ko lalong-lalu na sa street skills. Kahit wag muna freeriding all mountain kasi for the time being street set -up muna ko. Gustong-gusto kong gayahin riding skills nila Wayne Goss, Mike Aitken & many more skillful riders out there. Although mahihirap na mukhang simple lang ginagawa nila as much as possible nag aatempt pa rin akong gumaya sa kanila kahit konti lang naa achieve ko at least I'm always trying.
